Aliens Ate My Motorcycle Things To Do In New Mexico When Youre Ufoing

Aliens Ate My Motorcycle Things To Do In New Mexico When Youre Ufoing
You could say I've been into the "UFO scene" since my fourth grade teacher Mrs. Madugle read to us kids on a daily basis from Truman Bethurum's "Aboard a Flying Saucer, " a cult classic in the "contactee" literature of the 1950s. It left one of those indelible impressions spinning in my head. Now here I was, years later, riding my motorcycle from L.A. to Roswell, New Mexico, a vortex of interest for UFO buffs, the place where in early July 1947 a flying saucer allegedly crashed and its occupants recovered, as the story goes. Of mythic proportions, the enigma of Roswell is still a hotbed of controversy half a century later thanks to official obfuscation, as in "cover-up" and the Freedom of Information Act by which researchers have unearthed incriminating documentation. You could say Roswell is the Plymouth Rock for UFO researchers although most of us Saucerheads are not UFO-nuts. We're your average motorcycle riding, freelance article writing, advanced degree holding traveler who'd rather spend timing delving into paranormal mysteries than the souvenir shops in Disneyland. We've got our own Tomorrowland to explore where the stakes are cosmic and oftimes comic. But that's the nature of the universe, a balance of the wild and wacky, the weak and the strong forces that glue all the quanta together. As I zipped up my armor-enhanced riding jacket and donned my full-face helmet, I was actually more concerned that the forces holding together my 20-year old German motorcycle would prevail. First gear was popping out and puffs of gray smoke from the left cylinder exhaust meant ring job, but the trusty old BMW R100/7 had gone150, 000 miles so what was a couple thousand more in the face of light years of adventure lurking around the next hairpin curve. To cut to the chase, let's just chalk up the intervening space between L.A. and my intermediate stop in Santa Fe as a missing time experience, a lot of boring freeway pavement during which one could meld the mindset for the project at hand. Since I had only a short timeframe for this adventure, I took the semi-direct route from L.A. first to Santa Fe, about 860 miles from L.A., then on to Roswell, about 200 miles south. If you want to skip Santa Fe altogether and do the straight 970 miles from L.A., you just get onto the 1-10 East and keep going for 674.90 miles, connect to the US-70E which becomes the US-285 S. A left on the NM-2, another left on NM-2 and you're there. Of course you might want to stop and smell the cactus now and then. Without any mechanical mishaps or speeding tickets, I and my trusty Beemer arrived in Santa Fe a.k.a. the "City of the Holy Faith." Founded in 1607 and boasting 200 art galleries and five museums the town is a sandstone, pinion tree and cactus clad nexus co-constructed by three cultures: Native Americans who got there first, the Spanish who arrived later and lastly the Anglos who ended up owning the place. My first impression was that Santa Fe was designed by Barney Rubble thanks to the ground hugging houses with their rounded asymmetrical handmolded look. Everything is rendered in the hues of the surrounding desert... breccia browns, gecko grays, tumbleweed tans... a whole city muted to eco-friendly, zero-scape invisibility. What keeps it on the map are supernovae of intense color peaking through the adobe cloaking device. They can be seen in the historic plaza district, specifically the shopping stalls situated under the portico of the Palace of the Governors where the local Indians gather to sell their brilliantly polished silver jewelry and rainbow woven tapestries and clothing. In addition, huge strands of dried red chilies like mummified kelp forests hang everywhere. Santa Fe's shamanistic talismans, they weave a spicy spell since everything you order to eat seems to come with chili salsa. I felt a grumbling and it wasn't coming from any secret underground U.S. Air Force/Alien installation although one is alleged to exist in the area. I was hungry and something brought me to the massive hand carved wooden doors of the Inn of the Anasazi (113 Washington Ave., 505-988-3030). The Inn's 59 rooms feature gaslit fireplaces, four-poster beds, Indian artwork, even organic toiletries created locally with native cedar extract. Artists, historians and archaeologists host fireside chats in the Inn's living room. Call it a microcosm of the best Sante Fe has to offer under one vigas and latillas constructed roof. The Inn was named after the Native American people who had built a flourishing culture on the nearby cliffs of Chaco Canyon then suddenly disappeared without a trace six hundred years ago. Yes, petroglyphs and cave drawings in the area do depict strange creatures with helmet-like headgear. Alien UFOnauts or bikers? Science had no answers, but the hotel's excellent restaurant did... their specialty lamb prepared by Chef Randall Warder and augmented by a stellar wine list. To burn off some of the calories I signed up for a little excursion I learned about from the plethora of brochures found at the hotel. (Brochures and checking out the local phone book Yellow Pages is often my first reconnaissance maneuver when entering uncharted territory.) No tours to UFO landing sites but I did find something called "Aspook About Ghosts " Close enough since some investigators see a link between etheric and inter-dimensional warps and UFOs. What the heck, after a big dinner I needed a walk. For a few bucks the tour organizers promised "a haunting experience into Sante Fe's misty past... life (and death) among the coyotes, witches, ghosts, and the not quite dead." Conducted by Santa Fe ghost guide Peter Sinclaire (505-988-2774), I and my fellow spook seekers met at the palatial Eldorado Hotel at the intersection of San Francisco and Sandoval for a two hour bipedal exploration of Santa Fe's haunted places. It's a great way to see Sante Fe, kind of Ghost Busters Meets the Travel Channel. Santa Fe is also into digging up the bones of the past, and so am I. But I like to look in fossil and mineral stores for UFO related items. You never know when a piece of the Roswell crash will show up, right? No saucer debris, but there was a great deal on dinosaur egg shells at the Charlie "Have Rocks Will Travel" Snell shop located at 1110 Calle La Resolana. Before I spent all my money on eggs I couldn't eat, I threw my pack back on my bike, and pointed its headlight toward Roswell about 175 miles south of Sante Fe. State Road 285 is a perfect place to get abducted. It's virtually devoid of traffic with nothing but scrub brush and wide-open nothingness for hundreds of miles in all directions. Better to ride it at night if you want a close encounter of the fourth kind, but better to do it in the daylight if you'd rather not run into the pronghorn antelope you see everywhere. Antelope and motorcycles don't blend well. I nailed the throttle and blasted back down 285, and lo' and behold soon found myself entering the city limits of Roswell. It came in the form of a giant trampoline painted with the face of an Alien Gray... big head, bigger eyes... plastered on the front of a godawful big Wal-Mart department store. Inside my head, something whispered that UFO's had been commercialized. It was no big secret that Roswell was on the international map because of the 1947 incident and the town's subsequent total embrace of the whole idea. If there is such a place that deserves the title "UFOville" then it's Roswell. From Wal-Mart to the Arby's sandwich drive-through to the International UFO Museum and Research Institute, Roswell was 100% Flying Saucer Central. I loved the place at first sight. I checked into the "cost-effective" Crane Motel, one of those bring-your-own-ice-bucket" places. You can't miss it. There's a strange assortment of old junk cars with flat tires growing roots in the ground, an old ploy to convince people the place has guests. Or maybe the guests never left. One Plymouth had a faded "Vote Nixon" bumper sticker on it. In any case, I spent most of the next two days living in Roswell's International UFO Museum. You could easily spend a month if you're into the subject. Exhibits cover the Roswell crash or crashes since other witnesses have come forward with another crash site about 58 miles from Roswell. You can watch the video made by the late Jim Ragsdale a few days before his death. He relates the details of his encounter with a crashed disc that careened over his pickup truck in which he and his girlfriend were "buck naked" at the time. You can buy a copy of the tape or the book. Judge for yourself, but pretty darn convincing. Dozens of other UFO related books and videos are available, a few of the over 1000 items stocked by the museum's gift shop, a day's exploration in itself. I bought an Alien New Mexico driver's license that I think will get me into most bars in town. I also bought a commemorative Roswell rug and a membership in the museum. I spoke with the charming Ms. Phyllis Blackard, one of the museum volunteers (admission is free!) who as a young girl was present in Roswell when it all came down from the sky. "I was here when the military swarmed in, and I know Glenn Dennis the mortician who saw the little alien bodies. You can take his word to the bank." Located at 114 N. Main, the museum has had over 1,000,000 visitors. The exhibits follow the time line of the July 1947 incident and its aftermath, display purported alien craft fragments, and also spotlights the crop circle mystery and other associated subjects. Documents and photos line the walls as do various artists renderings of UFO scenes. There's even a section with UFO humor, cartoons, and such as well as two video screening rooms where you can watch documentaries. You can also have your photo taken in front of an "alien autopsy" scene that boasts props from the "Roswell" film starring Martin Sheen. Bulletin boards post the latest in reports from the around the world, and if you want to take a Roswell UFO crashsite tour you can call (505) 622-0628. Although I wished I could I remain in Roswell through the annual July 4th celebration extravaganza, UFO-themed of course, I had to get back to L.A. and work. But I occasionally glanced upward, always responding to the UFOlogist's mantra..."Watch the Skies." For starters Paul Garson rides motorcycles daily in L.A. He's also been the Editor of Hot Bike, VQ, Early-Riders and Eagles Eye magazines. Some 60 motorcycles and over 1000 magazine articles later he's developing a somewhat wobbly eye for bikes beyond bizzare and the never ending Norton Fastback project growing in his apartment closet.
Ufo Sighting In Bhopal Madhya Pradesh On November 24Th 2013 There Was An Orange Light That Flew In A Curved Path
UFO SIGHTING IN BHOPAL, MADHYA PRADESH ON NOVEMBER 24TH 2013 - THERE WAS AN ORANGE LIGHT THAT FLEW IN A CURVED PATH.

I was standing outside my sister's house gazing at the stars when I saw an orange glow approach from South east direction. It was momentarily obscured behind a tree, then it appeared out from it. I first thought someone was flying a lighted kite because the glow looked like it but when the object moved in a curved path, passing over houses at the end of the street,I realized that it was a UFO as there was no sound. There were no strobe lights and the glow appeared to flicker slightly. As the object flew away in a curved path, its light dimmed and before getting obscured again by houses, it had dimmed completely. The moment I saw the object, I knew it was not an aircraft because there was no sound and secondly, the light was a glow without there being a beam effect. The UFO was at a pretty low altitude of about 300ft and it moved without wavering in path. I could have mistaken it for an aircraft had the glow been of the color of landing lights. I watched the object fully aware that it was most probably a UFO and as the light dimmed, I was even more convinced of the craft being under intelligent control. The light of the UFO dimmed before it disappeared behind houses dimmed to a small point of light. It seems that the craft was accelerating throughout the curved path. I watched the scene calmly and at no time did I take my eyes off the object. It will be apt to say here that I was standing outside and gazing at the skies to see if there is really something out there and I just saw that.

Ufo Sighting In Center Ridge

Ufo Sighting In Center Ridge
UFO SIGHTING IN CENTER RIDGE, ARKANSAS ON JULY 6TH 2013 - WATCHED SHIMMERING SILVER RECTANGULAR OBJECT APPEAR TO TUMBLE THROUGH THE AIR MOVING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT UNTIL DISAPPEARED BEHIND CLOUDS AFTER 6 MINUTES OBSERVATION

travelling north on hwy 9, i caught a glimpse of what i thought was a dust devil rising ahead and to my right at appr 300 yds distance. it seemed there was a white wal-mart bag rising within the dust devil until i realized it was actually a silvery rectangular object i would describe as the size of a poster board. the object continued tumbling and rising to slightly above the tree line to appr 200 feet at which point it began to leisurely move west from the east towards the highway where i was driving north. this was when i moved over and stopped. during the next 6 min and 30 secs it crossed the highway and covered appr 3/4 mile then began to angle upwards at a 45% slope. it eventually diappeared behind the clouds. having flown extensively,i estimate the clouds to have been about 1000-1500 feet above the ground. during this period there were 4-5 cars pass, but unwilling to lose visual contact, i didn't wave anyone down. the reason i am so precise about the time is i was low on gas and was watching gas gauge and clock to see if i could make it to next station.

Ufo Sighting In Port Hope

Ufo Sighting In Port Hope
UFO SIGHTING IN PORT HOPE, ONTARIO ON SEPTEMBER 28TH 2013 - A VERY SLOW MOVING DISK SHAPED SOMETHING SEEDED TO BE ON FIRE

On September 28th 2013 at approximately 7:40pm, I was standing in my backyard having a bonfire with my two children, my husband went inside our house to change his clothes after spending the day working on building a deck with a friend. Our friend had left but came back when he realized he forgot something, as he walked back into the yard he yelled to me "SARAH! LOOK AT THE SKY! DO YOU SEE THAT? WHAT IS IT? As I looked up the "UFO" was right above me, I saw a very round, disk like, object that was moving very slowly,it appeared as though there was fire coming out of the bottom. I called to my husband to come out and see, then the three of us watched for approximately two minutes as it slowly moved across the sky. As we attempted to understand what we were witnessing at that moment, the best we could come up with was that an airplane one fire, that idea quickly faded when we noticed how slow it was going, the disk like shape, the redness of it, what appeared to be fire and the ominous glow projecting from it as well as the fact that we went inside checked the internet, TV and radio for the next hour to see if we heard anything about it. The object continued on a straight path North West, moving away from all major military bases and airports in the area, very slowly until we lost sight of it. Both my husband and I well as our friend were in disbelief at first as we tried to make sense of what we had just witnessed, our first thoughts were to go inside and see if we could find out any information, after doing some research and finding out nothing we have become convinced beyond a doubt that we witnessed a U.F.O. Thank-you.

Curses Energy And The Laws Of Attraction

Curses Energy And The Laws Of Attraction

Are curses real?

Curses are energy, just as we are energy, and evil energy sent from a mind, can do serious damage, a two-edged unseen sword that cuts both ways, just as prayers offered can have a strong non-local effect, and as well rebound goodness upon the sender.

I made the mistake of cursing my neighbors, one angry day, furiously wishing intensely that they suffer, specifically by falling down their stairs and breaking a leg.

I fumed in impotent fury, after I learned that they called 911 to my door with a complaint about 'a man shooting off a gun', and I had later, in quiet retrospect, exploded visciously, in a malevolent force, that I sent their way.

I was guilty, of course, air-pellet gunning down pesky squirrels on my soon to be harvested dwarf fruit trees, but when Blue Bullies With a Badge Inc. exploded onto my property, with their weapons drawn., one could hear audible laughter from those rednecks, yonder, who watched wearing underwear and open bathrobe robes with their door half open.

God works in mysterious ways, but if you want to see the Devil, right quick, just call 911.

I purposefully wished harm, sending a quiet seething curse towards those ornery redneck neighbors, harm in a curse that has since returned to me, two-fold.

I am a slow learner, sadly, as I belatedly learned, in one of the hardest ways, about the unknown laws of attraction, a poignant and harsh object lesson that taught me that the human mind is part of the quantum physics energy of the Universe, and it also clarified unknown truths about dark force entities.

I spitefully invoked 'Dark Force Entities',-using that title-name-, to creatively- and evilly- try to get 'even', by flexing a combination of my growing psychic prowess, to send strong and focused intentions of sinister vendetta, never realizing, that I had already approached and firmly touched the third rail.

Powerful, intense curses not unlike effective repeated prayers- which call for assistance from LIGHT,- call upon the spirit world's dark, gangster fringe element to respond to a request for a curse, an evil intent for another's injury, a directive for always in- attendance demons to quickly effect.

Demons, it sadly seems, loom and surround us all, at times, specializing in softly whispering negativity, to our minds.

It is therein only the recognition and vectoring away these of these negative whispered 'thoughts', that can ultimately win you the battle for being 'ruler of your own mind'..

The war, within everyone, however, silently rages on for mastery of one's secret and hidden soul..

There is also another inverse law of demonic attraction :

"The Dark Side", is also attracted to those with LIGHT, to seek ways to extinguish it.

Omni-prevalent in overhead UFOs, mean small dark grey pilots, and Dracos reptilians, much like demons, are very highly psychic as well as innately malicious, and they are telepathically sensitive to a human mind's energy, especially of intense and sustained malice and anger.

Negative thought beings, of many ilks are willing and capable to carry out "curses", and are, much like the human sender of a curse, spiritually sinister.

"Like attracts like" appeals to this varied crime family ensemble': sinister human earthbounds, E.T.s and powerful demonics, all of who constitute the gangster fringe element, of the unseen spirit world.

The demonic gradations of evil power : the ability to create negative miracles, and the ability to 'walk-into' a human being's muti-layered psyche, are varied but similar.

But eminently stronger than aliens or demons, are Devils, exquisitively diabolical and brilliant.

Household demons seem more animalistic and much less intelligent.

May God keep us safe from Devils.

I had, however, fired a demonic weapon, one that unknowingly was tacitly programmed to return to me, the site of the curse's origin, to claim yet another unsuspecting human prize and energy luncheon dish.

My leg, in swift karmic retribution, within a month, was soon badly broken, shattered, with ligaments and torn from a hit- and -run driver's fender, a knee and leg now filled with multiple painful, internal metal brace-works and screws, a leg that often plagues me.

What was my method of sending out that curse?

I seethed, with those neighbors in mind; I left my house, and I stared at their house, and I mentally focused rage at and towards them.

It was a foolhardy experiment, raw malice combined with an evil feeling, that felt oddly satisfying. I had previously experienced evil one's presences.

I had suffered a prolonged spate of nightmares and startling poltergeist phenomena, after seeing a UFO flotilla of overhead ship assemble at zenith over my head one night.

Suddenly, I more than suspected that dark ones, perhaps the very pilots within those craft were around me, unseen and impishly omnipresent, an indigestible probability, that contradicted all that I had ever learned.

I had unknowingly attracted them to me by intense and prolonged reading, researching others'experiences with alien nonhuman negative thought entities, and then an impressive overhead sighting happened to me with concurrent subsequent vivid "nightmares", soon after that astounding, jaw-dropping overhead UFOs sighting!

Untoward spiritual 'lessons', were self- chosen.

I learned, too late, that your energy goes, where your attention goes, and thus with aliens, an ironic and counter-intuitive 'Law of Attraction' road-sign, I had sped passed and overlooked, suddenly occurred!

When you pay attention to the paranormal, I assure you, IT then pays attention, to YOU..

An ensemble of round, red-glowing bottoms of "craft", like red balloons, had slowly assembled and formed from several directions overhead at zenith, a squadron of ten craft, that shifted color from red to violet all at once, and then fled in pairs, across the night sky, in a 'flash', like minnows in a pond.

Soon after this experience, wild and vivid (-imposed-) nightmares and household poltergeist mischief, both symptoms of the evil unseen, seemed at this moment to signal me.

More than raw wonder about them, my mind-set was now to "test them".

My excuse was that I was incensed at the neighbors and resented the threatening visages of the police, and what angst they had put me through.

How "evil" would it be, to test their 'power' as 'reality' of their bizarre and unseen omnipresent presences?

With focused malice,I sent them out, with orders to attack.

And as a special sign to me, to break a leg of the one who had, in squirrel empathy, sent the police to my door with a 911 message that a crazed man was shooting off a rifle at people.

It was a horrid encounter, a singularly unpleasant officer, and a close brush with incarceration.

I cursed those loud and often drunk neighbors with an effective, focused, curse, rage bristling with malice, a loathing, purposeful curse, and said it aloud.

A foolhardy and blind apprentice in a deadly dark art, I, as well, was soon be a victim, a clear, unwritten law of attraction.

I asked that this curse send negative thought entities/ demons/E.T.s to cause the complaint callers to fall down the stairs and, as a specific sign to me, to break their legs.

I seethed in focused raw malice towards them, visualizing their falls and slips on the stairs of their home, in an awful revenge, no one could ever, rightfully, suspect me of.

Focused malice was sent in bidding retribution.

How could unseen phantoms, remotely deliver such a curse?

Within a few days, the offending neighbor and his even more offensive SISTERS were limping on crutches, each one had a leg hidden in pen-autographed white casts; I stared fish-eyed, from my nearby porch.

I later learned that they fell (drunk?) slipped in staircase falls in their house!

I was overwhelmed by denial, naive agog-ness and foolish amazement in goose-pimply disbelief, a very slow growing realization of awe, and fear, nonetheless.

I remained a slow learner.

An EM Ambulance showed up, a week later, I subsequently found out, when an elderly friend of those neighbors ALSO took a fall, on the property, up on their stairs!

Unknown to me, I was to be next, to be amidst the cross-hairs, of demons.

Curses attract demons who with negative energy, jump onto humans, whose astral energies are attacked, to cause disease and misfortune.

Without arms or legs, how were they able to push three people down a flight of stairs?!.

I was to re- learn, engaged in later banishment throes, another harsh lesson, a 'law' also unknown to me, at that time:

A witch/ wizard, or ordinary person, who harbored a sincere malice, can easily project/ send out that energy of focused hatred, and with a verbalized curse, summon and deliver demonics, overly- eager to attack.

But, aS well, the curse also tacitly gives the demon an unspoken contract, a promissory, spiritual permission, to RETURN BACK to the sender, a boomerang, law of curses, back upon the very one who sent it!

Even worse, on its return, the dark side demon feels entitled to perceive the 'sender', as its own personal possession, a proprietary rule of attraction!

Laws of attraction were now out of control.

Weeks or a month later, I was knocked down, struck by a hit and run driver, my shattered kneecap and leg repaired with many pieces of internal brace work and joined with many screws holding them all in place, a contrivance which often pains me.

Although I heartily embrace the light these days and do deeply repent my single field experiment curse, 'they' visit often, in bidding retribution.

it's all I can do to catch some unimpeded sleep, with the lights on, all night.

I have since learned, that, for millennia, as a precaution, seeking safety, curses were NEVER directly sent out by the Black Arts practitioner, but were much more carefully administered, because of those unspoken 'laws of attraction'.

Traditionally, a summoner applying an effective curse, always used an apprentice, a human helper who would actively evoke demons and perform related evil metaphysics.

This was, of course, for the wizard's own personal safety, as ONLY the wizard well knew this secret 'proprietary rule' of demons and curses, within the laws of attraction.

In this ruthless pursuit, it appears, that Wizards stuck around for a long while; apprentices, came and went.

Joseph Capp On The Breaking Point

Joseph Capp On The Breaking Point
A fresh perspective into UFOs and the people who see them is UFO Breaking Point, at UFO Media Matters, Joseph Capp's blog.

Capp discusses the psychological effect on UFO witnesses, including witnesses with multiple sightings. He says, of disclosure:

I really have had strong problems with the idea that wide or complete public knowledge of ET presence would not be a profound shock to many, many people, that it must be assumed that the masses of regular people will simply go about their daily lives as though nothing happened.

On the contrary: I believe a kind of ET Shock would take hold. I suspect ET Shock would marginalize rational thinking in many people who need the safety blanket of Business As Usual in our busy, spin saturated world.

(I often say that, after a small period of adjustment, we'd all go back to normal, but I've been rethinking this recently. And here I find Capp's comments on this topic; another bit of synchronicity. I think many subcultures and already marginalized groups wouldn't be in shock -- they've been expecting it. But the infrastructures and mainstream, which after all are the ones that count as far as control goes, would be turned upside down. That's why full disclosure won't happen, and exopolitics, while well meaning, is a bit pointless. On the other hand, it's presumptive of us to assume anything when it comes to this subject. But we can speculate, which is what we're all trying to do; just deal with what we know so far and have experienced.)

Capp writes of his own UFO sighting, and the affect it's had on him -- all these years later. As with my own "obsession" and so many others, those of us who've had sightings oftentimes spend years searching for clues and answers -- even knowing no one size fits all answer will ever come -- we still take part in the process of discovery. Why?

And this last paragraph was another bit of Synchronicty between my recent musings on the phenomena and Capp's closing paragraph:

So in our own community we need to understand that UFO people are not "off" because they actually believe in UFOs; some of them have become "Off" by dealing personally with this profound, and often psychologically shattering experience as best as they knew how.

I've been thinking a lot the past few weeks about our isolation from each other, even within the field of UFOlogy and Fortean studies. Not only is our culture decompartmentalized, the subcultures of UFOlogy, etc. are as well. The often hostile divisions between nuts and bolts and more holistic theories, between paranormal Bigfoot and flesh and blood Bigfoot, and so on, further divide, and by doing so, reinforce the loneliness, uncertainties, and confusion within individuals. Throw in the skeptics -- who, like it or not are a part of this since they insist on being vocal on the fringes of the fringe -- and the experience is far from cohesive or supportive.

Our technological culture doesn't allow for these kinds of experiences, including religious ones. We tolerate some mainstream religions and misuse the more fundamental varieties to strengthen the fascism and theocracy leanings of government,(the control aspect) but there is not a culture of acceptability when it comes to the spiritual, supernatural, paranormal esoteric world that has lived alongside us for millennia.

It's not at all surprising UFO and other phenomena are kept at arm's length by society. Unless the topic is to be dismantled (debunkers, pathological skeptics,) or exploited (entertainment, television programs on the topic) it's still held out as highly questionable. You can voice your beliefs on Christianity at work, and come right out and say that "Halloween is a holy day and so shouldn't be celebrated" and you'll be treated with respect, no matter how grudgingly. Sure enough, no Halloween party will happen, and you'll even have a few coworkers chide you if you use the word Halloween. (I know, I experience this every year.) Talk about your church and you're tolerated, if not downright accepted as being "normal." For the most part, say you're a religious person of an accepted religion, and you're "normal." The activist atheist excepted, those will be tolerated in society. Venture out just a bit though, and you're suspect; even Mormonism is off the edge. The message is: don't stray too far from the relgious paradigm. Mention UFOs or Bigfoot, and people literally snort in your face. This isn't news to anyone of course.

The point is, in our society we've moved far away from the acknowledgment of "the other" to the point of outright denial it exists. And within the UFO arena, this same attitude exists among its own. It isn't any wonder, as Joseph Capp points out, that those who experience these things often go through psychological trauma, and may appear to be lost, off, confused, shaken, or gullible. And at a certain point, those labels become just that; labels. If we aren't willing to give some kind of support -- which doesn't mean agreement or total acceptance -- I really think we should shut up. Those that come on heavy and thuggish aren't contributing to the field in any way, despite whatever praise they receive. There's no pride in coming off as a bully, or being snide. Rejecting various aspects of the phenomena as not worth the time for its perceived silly factor is not a sign of intellectual superiority; it's a sign of intentional ignorance.

The obsessive path many a UFO experiencer or writer takes sometimes ends badly; even death. Suicides, mysterious deaths, mental illness, paranoia; UFO history has its share of people who've gone this way. Many of us accept this as a risk we take, and go on. It's a fact many were victims of government mind games; psy ops, mind control, intentional games played with the UFO witness or researcher to ensure his or her isolation, not only from society, but from their own sub-culture of UFOlogists. Their own families. And we're partly repsonbile, for allowing these divisions to exist, for allowing the petty grudge matches to go on, and all the rest of the ugly side of UFOlogy to continue.

Joseph Capp suggests there may be a Part II to the article; I hope so!
