The team looks at the biggest things in the sky, reports of giant UFOs. In 2007, a pilot over the English Channel spotted a gigantic object a mile wide in the sky. The sighting was confirmed by radar and a 2nd pilot, a yellowish platform-like object, followed later by a second, smaller one. In Canada and Iceland, eyewitnesses have also seen huge objects, some "twice the size of an aircraft carrier, and the show asks, "Why are huge UFOs are following our aircraft?" The team sets out to recreate the English sighting, declaring it one of the best documented ever. A good chunk of the show is spent up in an airplane, talking about the original encounter with the pilot and his passenger witnesses. The passengers who go on the recreation flight give the pilot high marks for how he reacted, given how unusual the situation was. At the end of the flight, he asked for anyone who saw anything unusual to leave their information with him.
The crew also talks to a French pilot, who saw a huge red-orange flying disc -- 800-1000 across -- below his plane. Then the object, which was fuzzy around the edges, gradually became transparent and disappeared. The show also mentions the sighting of a much smaller UFO--a rock that seemed to fly through the air under intelligent control. A 1986 Japanese piolt saw a giant UFO with two smaller ones, which the pilot thought were ships sent from the larger "mothership." The show notes that lenticular clouds, a very rare phenomenon, can appear disc-like and are very large. Sundogs are mentioned, too, but both these phenomena are dismissed as explanation to the shows sighting. The scientist they interview suggest that the sightings could be cause by a rare temperature inversion area, which can act like a mirror, reflecting things from afar, or even light. Such inversions can show up on radar. Of course, the crew doesnt believe that, either. As usual, the show relies heavily on witness reports and very little on actual science, but they speculate that because of air traffic, these types of sightings will increase in the future.

(ABOVE) At 03:30 p.m. on March 10, 1977, young Ricky Brandenburg was on the porch in front of his house, watching his mother talk to a neighbor lady. She asked him to bring the dog's dish out, when he happened to look over towards a two-story house to his right on the far end of the row of houses. He saw a strange object in the sky beyond, it came around into an open space and he could see that what he initially thought was an airplane or helicopter was actually something quite unusual, so he got a camera and took pictures as soon as he returned out of the house with the camera. He took five snapshots out in front of the house as the object moved rapidly across his field of view. He thought it was gone and started telling his mother what had happened, when he thought perhaps it would be visible from the back yard. He ran through the house to look, and sure enough, it had come around and was out there, only much closer. He got three more pictures before it went around the house again, so he ran back through the house and out front once more, and saw it in time to get another picture, roll the film, and snap once more as it bobbed a couple of times and rose almost vertically out of sight.

I have attached a recent composite drawing of the craft, witnessed August,1977--close encounter. The location of this sighting was in northeastern Scarborough, close to Westhill, Ontario.
The craft was 50 feet away-west of my position in a field,and about 200 feet high max. If I had the right rock, I could of hit it. Each of the four lights that rotated clockwise-one at a time, had a universal significance of our state. Out of the four-I found the blue one to be the greatest of importance. Blue would represent water and the sky. Today, I see both are in jeopardy, due to artificial harmful substances that we have developed and released into our environment. Now how alien is that, to our wholesome?
The encounter of this craft lasted between 15-20 minutes, before I ran off to find a witness.The shape of the craft appeared to be capsule or pear shaped.This event was my second UFO sighting- classified as, a Close Encounter of the Third Kind. Physical DONALD WRIGHT makes a thorough analysis of the physical properties of ghosts. TYPES OF APPEARANCES
Published in 1943, the book " APPARITIONS "(" APPEARANCES ") was written by the researcher FNM Tyrell and ghostly apparitions divided into 4 groups. In general rules, this classification remains in force to this day and is the primary guide that apply equally scientific and " GHOST HUNTERS ".
Frequent appearances: Under this heading those ghosts that appear regularly in one place grouped. Usually, it is not about demonstrations that cause fear and often naturally become accepted by those who frequent the site of them.
Most of the pictures that prove THE PRESENCE OF GHOSTS were obtained in these cases and surprising places and the number of tests that come from CHURCHES AND CHAPELS. When pictures of his church who had taken the vicar Lord is strongly surprised at the altar to detect the presence of a spectral semitransparent and hooded being who seems to see the world from empty eye sockets.
In 1935, a professional photographer and his assistant were doing shots of an ancestral mansion - RAYNHAM HALL - Norfolk, England. While working in front of a beautiful staircase, the assistant said he saw "a form GHOSTLY FEMALE "go down the carpeted stairs. The photographer did not see it but, by revealing the film, the light image appeared sharply. Informed of the subject, the homeowner - Marquis of Townshend - identified the appearance as "BROWN LADY "whose realizations are being reported in Raynham Hall since 1835. The very LORD TOWNSHEND had seen beside 2 witnesses in 1926.

Sometimes multiply locations of occurrence from a clumping factor. Is the specific case of the ghosts of pilot Bob Loft and Flight Engineer Don Repo, who died on December 29, 1972 the crash of the plane leading Eastern US company. The ship fell into the swamps of Florida and there were no survivors among the 101 people on board. From that moment, crew members from various flights of the same line reported apparitions of deceased colleagues.Demonstrations occurred with greater intensity in those airplanes of the same type as the injured (one TriStar) who had received as spare parts removed from aircraft conducted by Repo and Loft. The subject was studied thoroughly by the writer John G. Fuller who interviewed numerous employees of Eastern.These in turn ensured that several witnesses who had insisted before the authorities of the line with respect to recurring appearances had been passed to retirement or threatened with dismissal. To others they had been pressured to visit a psychiatrist hired by the company and flying books in which they had settled the APPARITIONS mysteriously disappeared. The problem became so well known in the world of airlines in 1974 earned an article in the newsletter of the US Flight Safety Foundation.
Appearances POST-MORTEM : This type of demonstration is not associated with a particular place or a particular event but with the recent death of the person who embodies.
Appearances reviews: This is manifestation of the presence of a person who is living an important but unknown experience for the person who is witnessing the situation. Overall, this experience is an accident, illness, extreme experience or the death of the individual.
Induced Appearances: In these cases, there is the corporeal manifestation of the presence of a dead or dying person but knowingly and willingly someone materialization. In the book mentioned, Tyrell was surprised that such occurrences have not been studied further when astral travel fees have received great attention.
GHOSTS VS POLTERGEISTS
Researchers topic insist that not confuse ghosts with manifestations of the phenomenon called "poltergeist". Scholars and witnesses of both types of supernatural event have said that in the 2 cases the temperature of the environment in which there were descended in a remarkable manner, as shown in "The Sixth Sense". But while the " POLTERGEIST "move objects without materializing, ghosts acquire corporeal form - solid or transparent - and nobody has seen throwing objects, although some opportunities have materialized simultaneously with a PHENOMENON of this kind. Among THE GHOSTS of proven existence were established some patterns and common features.
For example, they seem to obey the law of perspective, varying in size and shape according to the point from which they are observed. When appear solid, have the ability to be reflected in the mirrors and make noise associated with body movements. However, their presence lasts only a moment, as if their energy reserves are depleted quickly. It is also more common for ghosts manifest before a group of people to one but this does not necessarily mean that all present perceived appearance. This has been understood by some scholars as a kind of "insurance" of the spectra for the possibility that their appearance is described as " INTERSUBJECTIVE PHENOMENON "(created jointly by the minds of those present) is discarded.

The Milton Torres 1957 UFO Encounter is a case reported by a former jet pilot in the United States Air Force, Milton John Torres, of Miami, Florida. On May 20, 1957, the 25-year-old Torres was ordered on a mission to intercept and shoot down a large UFO that had been picked up by radar in the skies over East Anglia, United Kingdom. Torres, flying a North American Aviation F-86D Sabre jet approached the object and prepared to fire upon it. As he locked on his weapons, the UFO suddenly zoomed away at a high rate of speed. The details of this case were first made public in a release of UFO-related case files by the British government in October.
This case shares some similarities with the Del Rio, Texas UFO Crash of 1955, which also involved an aerial encounter between an F-86 Sabre and a UFO.
EVENTS PRIOR TO SIGHTING
On May 20, 1957, Milton Torres was a 25-year-old lieutenant with the 514th Fighter Interceptor Squadron in the 406th Air Expeditionary Wing based at RAF Manston in Kent. Torres was the pilot of one of two North American Aviation F-86D jets that were on five-minute alert at the end of the runway at RAF Manston airfield, awaiting the signal to scramble. The two American pilots were on standby and their jets were fully powered for immediate take-off. The exact time of the incident is not known, but it occurred late in the evening on May 20
ORDERED TO INTERCEPT
Torres and his fellow pilot were in the "alert shack" at RAF Manston when they received instructions to take to the air. The two pilots raced to their respective F-86Ds and took off well within the allotted five minutes.
"The initial briefing indicated that the ground was observing for a considerable time a blip that was orbiting the East Anglia area." Torres was then told that the object of his pursuit "was an unidentified flying object with very unusual flight patterns" and that "the bogey [UFO] actually was motionless for long intervals."
Having difficulty believing that he had been ordered to open fire on the unknown object, Torres requested authentication. "I was only a lieutenant and very much aware of the gravity of the situation." When the authentication code response came back, Torres struggled to match the numbers with those in his daily code sheet. "It was totally black, and the lights were down for night flying. I used my flashlight, still trying to fly and watch my radar." The authentication code matched.
Torres, who was in the lead position, received orders to push his jet to maximum power by using full afterburner and to proceed to an altitude of 32,000 feet on a heading that would intercept the UFO. The F-86D moved to Mach.92, (more than 700 miles per hour). The maximum speed of the F-86D is 761 miles per hour.
Torres and his wingman were vectored by Met Sector to a position over the North Sea, just east of East Anglia. Asked to report any visual observations about the UFO, Torres told ground control, "I'm in the soup, and it is impossible to see anything." High altostratus clouds and night flying conditions prevented him from making any visual contact.
APPROACHING THE UFO
Aware that he was reaching the upper limit of his jet's capabilities, Torres requested to come out of afterburner, but ground control denied his request. At that time, he prepared to execute the order to "fire a full salvo of rockets at the UFO." The F-86D carried 24 rockets. The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force describes the aircraft as having a "retractable tray of 24 rockets" and adds that "the effect of these weapons would have been devastating to an enemy bomber" because each 2.75-inch Mighty Mouse Mk 4/Mk 40 Folding-Fin Aerial Rocket (FFAR) contained the power of a 75mm artillery shell.

As Torres prepared all 24 of his rockets for firing, he could hear the other F-86D pilot also responding to orders from ground control. "I wasn't paying too much attention... but I clearly remember him giving a 'Roger' to all the transmissions. I can only suppose he was as busy as I was."
Torres was given a final turning maneuver to execute and was told to look 30 degrees to port. His radar screen displayed the UFO at 30 degrees and about 15 miles distant. "The blip was burning a hole in the radar with its incredible intensity. It was similar to a blip I had received from B-52s and seemed to be a magnet of light."
According to Torres, the radar return "had the proportions of a flying aircraft carrier." He added, "By that I mean the return on the radar was so strong that it could not be overlooked by the fire control system on the F-86D... The larger the airplane the easier the lock on. This blip almost locked itself... it was the best target I could ever remember locking on to. I had locked on in just a few seconds, and I locked on exactly 15 miles, which was the maximum range for lock on."

Suddenly, he noticed that the object on the radar screen was moving. "Do you have a Tally Ho?" Ground control radioed, wanting to know if he had made visual contact with the UFO. Torres replied that he was still "in the soup" and could see nothing.
"By this time, the UFO had broke lock, and I saw him leaving my 30 mile range. Again I reported that he was gone, only to be told that he was now off their scope as well. With the loss of the blip off their scope, the mission was over. We were vectored back to home plate (Manston) and secured our switches. My last instructions were that they would contact me on the ground by land line."
Torres was left with the impression that the UFO was moving at no less than Mach 10 (over 7,000 miles per hour) when it disappeared. "This thing had to be going double-digit mach making turns that I didn't think were possible, breaking all the rules of physics," Torres said. According to Torres, the UFO "didn't follow classic Newtonian mechanics. It made a right turn almost on a dime. The (Royal Air Force radar) scope had a range of 250 miles. And after two sweeps, which took two seconds, it was gone. And I was flying almost at Mach 1, at.92."
AFTERMATH
After the mission, Torres was advised that the mission he had just completed was classified and that he would receive further information about it from an "investigator." Torres later wrote, "I had not the foggiest idea what had actually occurred, nor would anyone explain anything to me."
On the day after the incident, Torres was ushered into a room of the squadron operations area, where a well-dressed American civilian in a dark blue trenchcoat was waiting for him. The civilian, who looked to Torres like an "IBM salesman" and was in his late 30s or early 40s, had come from London to interview Torres. He waved a National Security Agency (NSA) ID at Torres and immediately began asking questions about the UFO sighting. "He advised me that this would be considered highly classified and that I should not discuss it with anybody, not even my commander. He threatened me with a national security breach if I breathed a word about it to anyone. He disappeared without so much as a goodbye, and that was that, as far as I was concerned." The interview took only about 30 minutes, but Torres was "significantly impressed" by it that he did not speak to anyone about the UFO incident until recent years.
Torres told the "Air Force Times" that the NSA agent threatened to revoke his flying privileges and end his Air Force career if he talked about the mission. "He told me I would lose my pilot's license and it would be the end of my flying days
ABOUT MILTON JOHN TORRES
Milton Torres was born on July 28, 1931 in New York City but moved to Miami, Florida at age 15. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and was commissioned as a lieutenant in 1954, serving in Great Britain as a fighter pilot. In 1961, he earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering and became a range control officer at Cape Canaveral AFS for the Gemini and Apollo space programs. Later, he flew 276 combat missions in the Vietnam War and earned 13 air medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He attained the rank of major before retiring from military service in 1971. After leaving the military, he earned a doctorate degree in mechanical engineering and became an engineering professor at Florida International University. He retired from the university in 2004. Torres wrote a novel in 2005 titled "The Good Guys Wear Blue Hats" [ISBN 978-1420846522] based partly on his own experiences in the military and working with NASA.
RECENT COMMENTS BY TORRES
In an interview with the "Miami Herald" published October 23, 2008, the 77-year-old Torres stated that the UFO he saw on radar in 1957 "was not made of this Earth" and that his mission to fire upon the UFO was "just a dumb little kid going to slaughter." He expressed gratitude at not having fired because he surely "would have been vaporized." Speaking to Miles O'Brien of Cable News Network (CNN), Torres said he is convinced the UFO he encountered was designed by an "alien" intelligence and was not manufactured on Earth. He also said,"It was some kind of space alien craft. It was so fast, it was so incredible... it was absolutely death defying. To this day, when he [Torres] goes outside, he always looks up, half expecting to catch a glimpse of the prey that escaped him that night," according to an article in the "Toronto Star".

The drone scandal -- may I use that term? -- won't go away soon.
Lindsay Graham dropped one hell of a bombshell the other day when he let slip that the drones may have killed an estimated 4,700 people -- a much higher number than the previously released estimate.
The Washington-based New America Foundation says there have been 350 US drone strikes since 2004, most of them during Obama's presidency. And the foundation estimates the death toll at between 1,963 and 3,293, with 261 to 305 civilians killed.
According to the London-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism, between 2,627 and 3,457 people have been reportedly killed by US drones in Pakistan since 2004, including between 475 and nearly 900 civilians.A close look at John Brennan's testimony reveals that he may consider using drone strikes against U.S. citizens on U.S. soil:
"It's astonishing" said Jameel Jaffer, deputy legal director at the American Civil Liberties Union. "But it's the logical end point of the administration's claim that our war against suspected terrorists has no geographic boundaries."Charles P. Pierce wrote a brilliant take-down of the drone program for Esquire:
First, we have the ongoing charade of "transparency" as regards the president's assumed right to kill Americans anywhere in the world including, absent a clear statement from this administration, which has not been forthcoming, within the borders of the United States. Then we have the drone program itself, which is a constitutional abomination no matter how effective you presume it is. Then, we have another attempt to reach a kind of bipartisan consensus with the various vandals and predatory fauna in the other party. And then, last, as part of the attempt at bipartisan consensus, a deal is struck in which the president's hit list is kept in a vault while more fuel is fed into the Benghazi!, BENGHAZI!, BENGHAZI!111! infernal machine just as it was so sputtering to a halt that even John McCain was calling a cab to pick him up by the side of the road. I swear, if this deal goes through, Lindsey Graham is going to have a woody you could see from space.
This is what happens when you elect someone -- anyone -- to the presidency as that office is presently constituted. Of all the various Washington mystery cults, the one at that end of Pennsylvania Avenue is the most impenetrable. This is why the argument many liberals are making -- that the drone program is acceptable both morally and as a matter of practical politics because of the faith you have in the guy who happens to be presiding over it at the moment -- is criminally naive, intellectually empty, and as false as blue money to the future. The powers we have allowed to leach away from their constitutional points of origin into that office have created in the presidency a foul strain of outlawry that (worse) is now seen as the proper order of things. If that is the case, and I believe it is, then the very nature of the presidency of the United States at its core has become the vehicle for permanently unlawful behavior. Every four years, we elect a new criminal because that's become the precise job description.Of course, what goes around comes around:
Germany's federal prosecutor said yesterday that it had filed charges against two men over the alleged illegal export to Iran of dozens of aircraft engines for use in drones. It said a 30-year-old German-Iranian man identified as Iman J L and 54-year-old Iranian citizen Davood A were suspected of having contravened the law on foreign trade. They allegedly exported to Iran 61 aircraft engines for use in unmanned robotic drones without official permission between October 2008 and September 2009, the prosecutor said in a statement. It said the exported engines were "suitable for operating the 'Ababil-3' type drone which are used by the Iranian armed forces as target simulation-, reconnaissance- and combat drones". VoteVets claims that drone controllers are eligible for a special medal that ranks "above the purple heart".

Is it an extra-terrestrial ship, a spy drone of Pakistan, a space vehicle, or one of those Chinese hot air balloons launched by locals? Rumours are swirling after reports came of an unidentified flying object (UFO) hovering over the world's largest oil refinery at Jamnagar in Gujarat, owned by Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL).According to the local police, an object in the shape of a red bowl was found circling the RIL unit at around 8pm on January 24. Though it was neglected as a one-of-its-kind incident, the object resurfaced after three days in the morning.This report, from the Amherst Bulletin, is a bit closer to home:

In a previous post, I speculated that Dennis Kucinich's famous (or infamous?) 1982 "UFO sighting" was actually the sighting of an unmanned vehicle flying home to McChord Air Force Base, which was only ten miles away from Kucinich's location.

Three UFO reports of triangle or disc-shaped objects on July 25, 2012, were reported from Denton County, Texas, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database. A fourth case may be related from nearby Grayson County.A witness was stargazing on an apartment patio in Denton County about 12:30 a.m. on July 25 when a triangle-shaped object was observed hovering in the sky in Case 41135."At first I thought it was a satellite, but noticed that it wasn't conventional moving across the sky," the witness stated.
