I reflected on my past and present journey with the UFO INVESTIGATION CENTRE (UFOIC) - country member from the late 1960s, committee member from 1975, co-coordinator and director from 1976. I helped steer UFOIC through a group name change in 1977 which was in keeping with broader currents of change in the Australian UFO research community. By the early 1980s I steered the group through another more profound change - from a public group to a low profile networking group, again a change many researchers were adopting, which saw working in a looser networking format, with national networks was a very productive path to pursue. Through the 1980s this fundamental change allowed myself and other associates to pursue a number of major projects such as extensive research into the Australian government UFO files and deep research into the alien abduction controversy, which continued into the 1990s. In 1991 we readopted the UFOIC name.
Looking back at my post "THE EVOLUTION OF UFOIC" I noted by coincidence it had 6 'phases' or 'chapters.' In "SIX CHAPTERS (OR RECORDS) OF A FLOATING LIFE" of course there are two missing chapters. Jose's novel "THE RED THREAD" utilises the idea of the missing chapters resurfacing.
Fragments of the UFOIC thread are missing as well, but not whole chapters - as I indicated UFOIC itself went missing, at least in name only, between 1977 and 1991, when it existed in both thought and deeds, reformed and re-imagined, under another name, UFO Research (NSW). Circumstances gathered in late 1991 and the group name UFOIC was readopted, embracing the "floating life" of a group thread. Given my current and past UFOIC connections I pondered this Chinese connection - a "DRAGON SEED" - from its earliest manifestations through pioneer UFOIC researcher ANDREW TOMAS. Prior to his UFOIC association from 1955 to 1965 he was writing about strange aerial objects when he was in China in 1935! He would embrace a spiritual path somewhat anchored in the physical world. STEPHENVILLE - Over a three-month period this summer there were 1,000 UFO sightings filed with the National UFO Reporting Center.
Some 75 of those UFOs were reported over the state of Texas.
Stephenville is one hot spot we've shown you before.
Now the small town is getting buzzed by UFOs again and we have the video.
"You could see the oval shape. Got my friend, I said 'dude, you got to come look at this,'" said Andy Monrreal.
Monrreal was hanging out with his Dublin High School friends when they all saw something they say looked like a UFO.
"You could see a shape. It was like a complete circle," said Monrreal.
He rolled off a half minute of video on his mom's digital camera.
His dad saw it too.
"I never seen nothing like that in my life. Big lights and everything," his father said.
So did mom.
"It was a round thing. You could see lights around it, flickering and changing. It was awesome. Just turning and flickering," she said.
Back in January, Erath County went UFO crazy after a handful of people reported similar lights over Stephenville.
International press and UFO hunters descended on the town.
This time, many more eye witnesses are phoning the Stephenville Empire Tribune or the ET.
Reporter Whitney Ashley said many people don't want to talk publicly, like several workers at the paper, who also saw the lights.
"I've got at least 10 right now willing to go on record," Ashley said.
"The sheriff's department got lots of calls in the southern part of Erath County."
Down around Dublin, home of DR Pepper.
The Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth confirms seven F-16s training in the area at the time.
Several witnesses told us they saw the fighters, after they saw the mysterious lights.

A resident of the seaside city claims she saw a series of UFOs over the area on SUNDAY, AUG. 26. Audrey Strong was walking along the pier with her brother-in-law between 8:30 and 9 p.m. when they saw what she described as a bright orange globes in the night sky.
"When I first spotted it, there was only one and it really caught my attention," she said. "And then, all of a sudden, boom, there's another one."
They didn't think to photograph the lights, but Strong provided a detailed description. She counted 10 lights, evenly spaced apart in a row over the city, and said a man on the pier claimed to have seen the same sequence previously over Terrace, B.C.
"They stayed at the same level in sequence, like they were on a highway," she said. "It was just too weird. How do you explain what that is?"
The National UFO Reporting Center lists only two reports of UFOs in White Rock in the last 12 years, with one earlier this month and another in December 2007. However, UFO*BC, a local group that tracks out-of-this-world activity, has at least a dozen accounts from White Rock and Surrey between 1990 and 2012.
At first, Strong and several other people on the pier thought the unexplained lights might be from helicopters or border patrol aircrafts. But Michael Milne, a public affairs officer with the Homeland Security in Seattle, said in an email that there were no border patrol aircrafts operating in the area that evening.
Representatives at White Rock City Hall and White Rock RCMP said they had not received any reports of UFO sightings in the area. The Coast Guard did not respond by press time.
Gavin McLeod, a member of the Mutual UFO Network, said he is often skeptical of reported UFO sightings. He said a sequence of lights is referred to by ufologists as "Chinese lanterns," a common phenomenon caused by such items as wedding balloons that are mistaken for UFOs.
"The fact that they were just floating there and then disappeared one at a time causes me to be somewhat suspicious," he said. "We get a lot of reports and most of them are misinterpretations. An actual, really good sighting is extremely rare."
Based on the description, McLeod said it's more likely that what Strong saw were hot air balloons that night. Strong did say the shade of orange resembled that of fire, but McLeod hasn't ruled out the possibility of it being a legitimate sighting.
"The field is wide open," he said. "Anything is possible."
Strong said she believes in beings from other planets and wonders if anyone else saw the same pattern of lights she did Aug. 26.
"I don't believe we're alone," she said. "Why wouldn't it be possible?"

DEPENDS ON HOW YOU 'SAY' IT

You can find some of the all-time great tombstones languishing in Key West Cemetery. They're noted not merely for the pompous spectacles the deceased have created of themselves, but also for what appear to be posthumous darts leveled by their survivors.
Interjected here and there beneath the names and dates of the decedents' lives are the selective and vaguely sardonic applications of quotation marks. There may be legitimate reasons for putting "Poet, Father," and "Writer" in quotes to summarize a legacy, but to the cynical among us, those devices reek of insincerity.
That's why insights into at least one aspect of a UFO case that's been bugging North Carolina researcher Scott Ramsey for more than 20 years might come down to punctuation.
The issue is an Oct. 5, 1950, report generated by a district commander of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations to his boss in Washington. Declassified in 1975, this one details an attempt to bust a guy offering to sell state secrets - in this case, photos from an alleged UFO crash scene at Aztec, N.M., in 1948.
The censorship on this two-page report, slugged "Purchase Offer of Flying Saucer Photographs," is a joke from the get-go. Although the identities of the two principle characters are blacked out in the main body of the text, their names - L.D. McLaughlin and "an individual named Cline," according to the report - aren't redacted upon first reference.
Briefly, in September 1950, McLaughlin met Cline at a Denver hotel and offered to sell him UFO pix for 1,500. Cline then alerted authorities, who pounced on McLaughlin.
Government agents noted that "in spite of his denials, his manner indicated that he had some knowledge of the incident or may have taken pictures of it." But the OSI evidently bought McLaughlin's defense that he was drunk when he spoke with Cline. It appears as if the USAF let the matter drop.
But Ramsey wanted to know more about Cline's role in this affair. After all, the document described him as from - and this part is in direct quotes, like "Poet" and "Father" in Key West - "The Baltimore Sun."
Ramsey spent hours on the horn with researchers at the paper, hoping to understand how the story turned out, and why a reporter working on a project of this potential magnitude would blow his lead to federal agents first. Ramsey passed along different potential spellings of Cline's name. His liaison at The Sun "went through every archive they could locate," Ramsey reported in an e-mail. "Only Cline was Lawrence Cline, died 1929, and a Donald Klien that did not start until July 1957 and left in January 1969." And there was no story, to boot.
Given the multiple bureaucracies aroused by McLaughlin, Ramsey, who's completing a book on the Aztec mystery, is left with a legitimate question: "How did the FBI, Army CID, and the Air Force OSI get duped by one person?"
Well, just remember our large-scale intelligence failures in 1950. Even as Chinese artillery was pounding the hell out of U.S. positions across the Yalu River, the CIA was telling the White House that China had no plans to invade the Korean peninsula.
This "Cline" guy was probably just another "patriot."
