The Alien Autopsy was a controversial film of an alleged "alien (extraterrestrial) autopsy" is supposed to been filmed by a military photographer therefore, according to the believers, that a flying saucer crashed near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. Remember when it was just a conspiracy theory that the CIA wanted the Mafia to assassinate Fidel Castro? That was until the conspiracy became reality after the CIA released its own lurid documentation on the Mafia recruitment effort.
One day, maybe not too far in the future, we will look back at the conspiracies surrounding UFOs and find out that they too are revealed as realities. Of course, disclosure has been promised many times by those allegedly "in the know". Hell, the folks in Exopolitics predict Disclosure as imminent every chance they get, and then come up with the most ridiculous of excuses for why it is denied to the citizens of the world when their ill issued predictions go up in smoke.
But this article is not about true UFO Disclosure. It is about the strange bedfellows that Ufologists seem to keep in their alleged pursuit of truth. You see, when you climb high enough up the ladder of Ufology and are prominent in the field; the strangest of characters approach you with promises of "disclosure". Normally, the ruse goes something like this. Approach subject Ufologist and make claims that you are in the know. Then shower said Ufologist with feelings of "eliteness" by offering them an inside look at the truth. When they take the bait, deny them the information promised, but keep them on a string with promises of information that will slowly be revealed in good measure and time.
Now you are probably wondering, when I was the International Director of MUFON, did this ever happen to me? Actually it didn't, but then again I made it public knowledge that I would not accept inside sources who were not willing to go public with their identity and their claims. So I was not willing to play the game to begin with and those who refuse to dance are never asked to.
Speaking of strange relationships, in 2009, billionaire entrepeneur Robert Bigelow decided to hire MUFON to conduct UFO investigations on behalf of his new venture, BAASS, an alleged aerospace company interested in discovering and exploiting novel and cutting edge technologies that relate to space travel.
Well what is so unusual about that? Maybe it has to do with the following interesting facts:
* John Schuessler, MUFON Board Member and former International Director was offered a U.S. government security clearance allegedly related to his consulting work for Mr. Bigelow. Now whether John was actually given that clearance, I can't say for sure, but I was one of the people interviewed as part of his background investigation.
* Mr. Bigelow did not fund MUFON's work for BAASS, instead "sponsors" that Bigelow revealed to John Schuessler but not to the other MUFON Board Members put up the money.
* Mr. Bigelow invalidated his own legal contract with MUFON by refusing to abide by the original deal struck with MUFON and instead changed the terms mid-stream, something the MUFON Board of Directors acquiesced to despite my protests.
* During the project, MUFON provided both historical MUFON files as well as current MUFON case files (including witness information) to BAASS. To cover MUFON legally, the MUFON UFO reporting form was modified to collect the witness' permission to offer their sighting data to a third party, the only third party being BAASS.
* When I uncovered some very damaging information about the Skinwalker Ranch (also owned by Mr. Bigelow) and provided that information to the MUFON Board along with my doubts about the true agenda of the BAASS-MUFON relationship, the MUFON Board unethically bypassed me and communicated in secret with BAASS in an attempt to continue the project. When I found out about this unethical behavior, initiated by my former friend and current International Director Clifford Clift and MUFON Board member Jan Harzan (probably the next International Director after Cliff retires), I resigned immediately from the MUFON Board and the International Director position.
* Rather than reveal the truth of why I resigned to the MUFON membership, Cliff decided to whitewash the unfortunate events while he swept his broom around MUFON, portraying me as an inept leader who brought MUFON to financial ruin and presenting himself as the savior of the organization. His betrayal stung me to my very core, as I considered him a friend for fourteen years until he revealed who he truly was. At the 2010 MUFON Symposium he told the MUFON State Directors that I left MUFON because the "truth" I was seeking was not the same "truth" the MUFON Board of Directors sought.
So for the leading UFO organization in the world, whose mission statement is the scientific investigation of UFOs, what truth is Mr. Clift alluding to? Maybe it is the sad truth that without a wealthy benefactor behind MUFON, the organization is but an army of volunteers with no funding for their scientific investigation, and if staying within the good graces of the only willing benefactor means compromising ethics and the duties and obligations a non-profit organization has to its membership and to the public, then so be it. I suggest that the MUFON membership deserves more from their leadership.
In fact, every MUFON member should take Mr. Clift up on his promises of transparency and demand answers to the following questions which should be posed to the MUFON Board of Directors:
* Does John Schuessler currently have an active government security clearance and for what reason was it granted? What is John's current relationship to BAASS and Mr. Bigelow?
* Does MUFON still provide current UFO reports to BAASS? If not, then why is the 3rd party witness election still on MUFON's "Report a UFO" form on the MUFON web site?
* Is the MUFON Board of Directors willing to give an accurate history including publicly releasing all supporting documentation of the MUFON-BAASS legal contract that encompasses the entire project period?
* What is MUFON's current relationship to BAASS and Mr. Bigelow?
The MUFON Board of Directors may be in pursuit of their own truth, but the real truth has an odd way of surfacing even after many years, as the CIA-Mafia affair shows. How can those in the field of Ufology seek disclosure from outside if they are not willing to seek disclosure from within first? The choices made by the MUFON Board during the MUFON-BAASS project demands complete openness and transparency so that the conspiracy theory behind the MUFON-BAASS relationship is put to rest. MUFON's leadership should practice what it preaches and leave no details hidden if it wishes MUFON to retain any semblance of respectability in this field already filled with enough unanswered questions and shadowy characters and organizations. It is time for MUFON to sweep its own house clean.

The question has to be asked when considering the response to extraterrestrial First Contact. What if we screw it up? That may sound like a worry not worth considering, as First Contact of any sort is hard to predict in terms of how it might happen. I do think it's a question that will be foremost on the minds of those involved in the event, if it occurs some time in our future. Why? Primarily because high information First Contact would likely have a profound impact on human civilization.
It will also be a situation unlike any we have encountered in human history. That uniqueness presents problems. We can't do a best practices review of First Contact situations. Well, that's not entirely true. We could certainly do a review of human to human First Contact in history. The initial meetings between human societies have been well documented. A few of those situations may have turned out okay for the civilization with lesser technology, but as has been pointed out time after time, most of those situations did not turn out well for the technologically weaker civilization. There is a long list of human societies rendered extinct because of First Contact with other humans.Aliens are unlikely to be like humans and such comparisons only go so far. And that means that we don't have any roadmap for extraterrestrial First Contact. That makes it a potentially dynamic event and one where we are forced to fly by the seat of our pants, so to speak. If we screw it up- who's to say what negative impacts there could be for the human race? (not to mention the rest of the Earth and it's creatures that we usually forget to consider). If we are too open we could unleash biological dangers on Earth. If we are too open we could find ourselves flooded by alien information, causing a tidal wave effect for our scientific and social institutions. If we are hostile we could create conflict. If we are hostile we could cause the aliens to avoid us.Of course, there is a middle road that could be followed. Staying on the middle road won't be easy. The whole of humanity would be embroiled in a debate over the response to First Contact. It may be hard to reach consensus. World leaders may be forced to make tough decisions. Two hundred years later humans could point to those decisions and say that the wrong decision was made and that humanity was irrevocably harmed. Just a little pressure.What can be done? Nothing. A bold and active response will be required in a direct First Contact situation. We must hope that the world leaders making those decisions are thoughtful, careful and have a clear vision for the future of humanity. We don't want to screw this up. HISTORY: "Project Italy 3 was created in 1981, as a collective effort of analysing Italian Close Encounters of the Third Kind, by the Rome branch of Centro Ufologico Nazionale (Massimo Pigliucci). When that group disbanded, coordination was taken by Paolo Fiorino, who changed it into a national catalogue and archive.
AIMS: Collecting, investigating, cataloguing and analising Italian CE-III reports.
METHODS AND RESULTS: As of now, 720 Italian UFO reports with associated entities have been catalogued into a database. Project archives presently consists of more than 10,000 pages of documentation. Personal investigation reports by the coordinator are 130, and another 160 field investigation reports are also filed. Audio-video recordings exist for more than 120 case histories. A separate archive also collects documentation about Italian contactees and cultist groups.
PUBLICATIONS: Several articles have been published, most of them reporting about investigated cases [see Paolo Fiorino's Bibliography].
FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS: Publication of the whole annotated catalogue of Italia CE-III reports, internal analises and comparative analises with international samples are planned. Evolution of CE-III reports in time and in connection with sociological and storiographic issues is also planned.
Leaving the Whataburger at 11:15pm...prior to getting on Cameron Road I noticed a whirring sound and a few seconds later I noticed 2 light-objects moving from the NE toward my location and coming from hi to low elevation. There were 2 objects moving in a lose and changing formation in relation to eachother...they were descending toward my direction (I stopped the car immediately and got out to observe because of how strange they looked and moved...there was a very subtle wobble or side-to-side motion as they moved along. They stopped at an altitude between 200-300 feet, judging from the power-line height...they were very low and the whirring sound was very subtle and didn't last long. They would be pretty easy to miss because they did not give off light rays...they had a clear edge to them but still having an inherent orange illumination. As they moved westward above Hwy 290 I got back into the car and tried to follow. Somehow, without appearing to speed up they gained altitude and distance quickly...out of site by the time I reached the access road of Hwy 290 from Cameron Road. I moved onto 183North hoping to catch another siting of them but that wasn't successful. My girlfriend was in the car with me. She heard and saw the whole thing...we have a photo from her phone camera that we will upload soon for the report file. The appearance of crop circles in Sleman, Yogyakarta, has fascinated Indonesia's unidentified flying object (UFO) enthusiasts.
The community of enthusiasts, comprising approximately 1,200 people both from Indonesia and overseas, believed that the crop circle was created by extraterrestrial creatures and their UFOs.
"This phenomenon has never been seen before in Indonesia," Indonesian UFO Enthusiasts Community co-founder Nur Agustinus said Monday, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Nur acknowledged, however, that there was a similar report of this phenomenon observed by a farmer in Tuban, East Java, a few years ago, but the report's credibility remained questionable.

By Robert Hastingswww.ufohastings.com7-30-13 In 1973, when I began interviewing former/retired U.S. military personnel regarding their UFO experiences at nuclear weapons facilities, I didn't give much thought to the possibility that the intelligence community would take an interest in my activities. At that point, the CIA's "Robertson Panel" Report-which recommended surveillance of American UFO-research advocacy groups-was still classified. Indeed, as far as the public knew, the only component of the U.S. government responsible for UFO-related matters was the Air Force.However, that myth slowly faded away as classified documents began to be pried loose for public inspection via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). By the early-1980s, the involvement of the FBI, the CIA, and the NSA in the collection of UFO-related data had been firmly established.My own naivet'e regarding what I considered to be the remote possibility of covert surveillance of my own activities was shattered in early 1982, shortly after I first went out on the American college lecture circuit to report my findings. Those public programs resulted in media coverage by numerous newspapers, including the New York Times, as well as the Associated Press and United Press International. Apparently, the FBI also took notice. In 2012, veteran UFO researcher and Freedom of Information requestor Larry W. Bryant sent me a letter he had received from the FBI-in response to an FOIA request on my behalf-in which the bureau acknowledged that their records indicated the existence of files on my UFO-related activities. However, according to the letter, a search for those files was unsuccessful because they were supposedly "missing". Neither Bryant nor I believe that to be the case.The first indication I had that someone was monitoring my research activities came within months of my first national publicity. It was/is my practice to tape record my interviews with the military veterans-who have described observing UFOs maneuvering near or hovering over ICBM sites, nuclear weapons storage areas, or similar locations. Beginning in February 1982, after each and every telephone conversation with one of those individuals, recorded with their permission, it became clear that someone was tapping my phone.After each interview, only moments after hanging-up, I received a mysterious call from someone who said nothing, even though I could hear background noises, who then hung-up after 30 seconds or so. I stress that this odd pattern only occurred after I had spoken with this or that veteran, who was divulging dramatic information about one nukes-related UFO incident or another. It never happened after one of my calls to my family or friends, or at any other time. The pattern continued for several months.Obviously, someone was attempting to intimidate me or, at the very least, was just letting me know that they were aware of who I was talking to. As I have repeatedly said over the years, I guess I was too stupid to be scared because I continued with my efforts to learn what the U.S. government was hiding from the public, relating to UFO activity at nuclear weapons sites. I now have more than 140 U.S. military veterans on-the-record-I just spoke with a new source earlier today, a former Minuteman missile Electro-Mechanical Technician who sighted a UFO at Minot AFB in 1968-and I am happy to report that the FBI has never contacted any of those guys. In other words, regardless of who was tapping my phone, there were no repercussions for the persons who had agreed to speak with me. And, to date, no one has ever shown up at my door either.That said, in one recent case, "someone" did learn about my telephone and email communications with a retired Air Force missile targeting technician who had made a few inquiries on my behalf, relating to a widely-publicized missile communications-disruption incident at F.E. Warren AFB, in Wyoming, on October 23, 2010. That individual was in touch with a few of the active duty missile maintenance personnel who had responded to the problem, during which 50 ICBMs became temporarily unavailable because the base could not communicate with the launch officers who controlled them. Officially, the disruption had lasted 59 minutes and was caused by an improperly-replaced computer card in a weapons-control processor. However, what my retired Air Force contact learned about the incident, from the missile maintenance techs who had responded to it, was much different: The event involved an intermittent communications disruption that actually lasted more than a day, not a mere 59 minutes, as the Air Force claims. More importantly, several independent maintenance teams returned to the base reporting their sighting of a huge, cigar-shaped object in the sky above the missile field. My contact was told that the entire missile maintenance squadron had been unexpectedly assembled and admonished by its commander not to speak about "the things they may or may not have seen" in the sky. Clearly, the aerial object was not a blimp.Unfortunately, I was later informed by my contact that two of those missile technicians, upon retiring in June 2011, were informed by their superiors that a "flag" had been placed in their Air Force service records, relating to their unauthorized disclosures about the incident. Obviously, someone had been monitoring their emailed conversations with my go-between, who later forwarded their comments to me. This development meant that the two men would have difficulty finding work in the aerospace field after leaving the service.I of course felt very badly about this development, even though my contact has said that the two individuals had been fully informed that he was passing information on to me about an apparent UFO maneuvering above F.E. Warren's nuclear missiles during the communications-disruption incident. In this type of situation-where active duty Air Force personnel leak information about UFOs near nuclear weapons sites to outsiders-the Pentagon becomes trapped by its own deceptive policy of claiming that UFOs pose no threat to U.S. national security. (It was this official stance-UFOs, even if they exist, are not a threat-that was used to justify the closure of the Air Force's UFO study, Project Blue Book, in 1969.) The two individuals who reported multiple sightings of the huge cigar-shaped craft by missile maintenance teams at F.E. Warren AFB in October 2010-at a time when 50 ICBMs were effectively offline-cannot be prosecuted for divulging classified information because, among other repercussions, the Air Force higher-ups would have to openly admit that they took the UFO reports seriously and went so far as to admonish an entire missile squadron not to talk about the incident. In short, any open prosecution of the two men would risk turning a media spotlight on the whole affair, thereby raising public awareness about the true nature of the event-something the Pentagon definitely does not want to happen.And so the game goes on. The Air Force continues to claim that UFOs pose no risk to U.S. national security. Meanwhile, veterans slowly but surely come forward to report UFOs at various nuclear missile bases-as far back as 1962 and as recently as 2010-which often appeared just as some of America's nuclear missiles mysteriously malfunctioned. Maybe, someday, the public will be let in on the truth.Last week, Larry Bryant sent me a letter he had composed on my behalf, directed to the National Security Agency (NSA), asking that any and all NSA files containing information regarding my UFO-related activities to be released to me, pursuant to requirements stipulated in the federal law known as the Privacy Act. orange red steady lights east to west counted about 7 or 8 spaced about 90 seconds apart. lights appeared to be on front of vehicles as once past they faded out just like a car headlight fades out. if the crafts were the size of a commercial plane they would have been 4 miles distant at about 10,000 feet altitude and traveling at about 300 mph. if crafts were larger the distance would be greater and the speed greater. the wife and i observed them and went outside and there was no noise of aircraft or other. this event occured at the time of the "not guilty" verdict for Zimmerman. the night was clear with unlimited visibilitly and still some afterglow from sunset. about 10 minutes after the last orange light faded a commercial jet from Milwaukee Mitchel Field passed from north to south with flashing red and white brilliant lights as unmistakenly an aircraft. our home has large picture windows facing east, south and west and the orange lights caught my eye as not being normal for aircraft.

Heading to Tawas Michigam, going north on M65 almost to M55 when at 9:50pm a dome object with white lights was still in sky. I saw it for 5-6 second. Then it disapeared. My wife looked up and seen it as it appeared seconds later. I hovered slowly going east, did a tight roll and the at great speed went east and was out of sight with-in seconds. We imediatly called our kids and we were in shock of what we saw. When we reached our place, which was less then 2 mi. Away we sat in our car for awaile before we could unpack. The next day it was on my mind so I called my son and asked his to look up if there was any reports of anything unusual. My wife was also looking this up on her Black Berry.

The intangible aspects of Vallee's arcane hypotheses are anathema to many in the UFO community but more than acceptable to those wishing to resolve the UFO enigma.
There is a foolishness in ufology that turns away serious thinkers and researchers. Jerry Clark, Stanton Friedman, Isaac Koi, and several other ufologists are not part of the inane UFO crowd, but their serious study of UFOs is undercut by the quidnuncs who use UFOs to provide a camaraderie that can't be obtained elsewhere. UFOs may be used as a means to an end, but not as vehicles to assuage those whose end is self-glorification rather than a truth of significant import.
This is what Eliade means when he states that UFOs (z^ines) bring sickness on those who see them dance.
The sickness is psychical, and demeaning to the human purpose of life, which is not rock and roll, beer swilling, or the constant ogling of females.
The pleasures of the flesh do not, in our opinion, have anything to do with the meaning of UFOs.
Eliade goes on to explicate his account, and provides an exegesis that belittles the kind of ufological activity that has been ruinous to the real study of UFOs.
Presenting various hypotheses about UFOs is endemic to ufology, but a few would have it otherwise, sloughing off UFOs by a desire to self-glorify and party rather than settle down to serious UFO investigation.
We recommend the Edward de Bono method of "New Think" for UFO evaluation.

I'm wondering about witnesses who have had first hand accounts of Aliens or extraterrestrial beings, did they see greys or humanoids ? maybe both. On reading other material the opinion formed is that greys are seen more often than any other species and perhaps we have more visits from this species than any other that is supposed to visit our planet. Then again perhaps they are merely the slave order of the real Alien that do their beck and call and take chances here on our planet.
As I have already stated Alien greys stature and body mass would give the impression that they were not capable of constructing the UFO craft that we see visiting the Earth. Of the many witnessed accounts of Alien greys being encountered some say they are from two to four feet in height others say three feet and there are accounts of greys being as tall as five foot, are they all of the same race or different and from other planets? Do they work collectively here on Earth or is there another reason for seeing these different sizes of being.
Greys as they are called are not altogether grey but a blend of grey and pinkish skin, reportedly they have no visible clothing and if there are male and female types then it isn't obvious to someone who is visited by them. Large heads with unusual type eyes, dark and heavy and with little or no nostrils or nose and ears.
Nearly always when near to cattle or other animals usually at night or early hours of the morning, floating about small UFO craft or scuttling about with a frame about to mutilate a cow, the craft is always small and probably a satellite vehicle. The mother craft is no doubt near but out of sight, then again it might be at the edge of our atmosphere waiting for the next victim to arrive or part there of. Larger craft have been seen on numerous occasions hovering above a field and cows being levitated upward toward that craft by way of a powerful light beam.
Because of the lack of genuine reports of cattle or animal mutilation, the impression one might have is that it is a rare event, sure there are plenty of reports going back over the years but you would be forgiven to think that it had only been going on for ten years or so. I know there are lots of photographs about the internet but when you really look around most of the photos are the same and I could just as easily publish some of those photos here.
Animal mutilation goes back a long time, even before Roswell and just in case you didn't realise animal parts were found in the recovered craft at the Roswell site. Roswell was in 1947 but did you know that craft had been recovered before that, yes in 1942 and as well as extraterrestrial beings they also found animal parts. I'm still at a loss as to why they would mutilate so many animals over such a long time, genetic manipulation or hybridisation I am not so sure, there has to be another reason. Think of it this way we here on this planet have been playing around with genetics for a few years and have duplicated animals ( Dolly the sheep ) comes to mind a perfect copy. If these visitors from far off galaxies are so intelligent than I am pretty damn sure that it would not take them long to experiment on animals or man and get the results they needed much quicker than we would.
Perhaps as suggested elsewhere when the recovered bodies of the Roswell crash, the greys were transported to different Airforce establishments and autopsy's were undertaken and the conclusion was that greys were a genetically formed being, not natural. The true form of an extraterrestrial is probably more like you or me and the grey, well part man part ET !
Other forms of Alien have been talked about and even some have been seen in various countries but we'll talk about that later...

I live in the country and alot of deer come in my yard to eat apples. Something in the sky caught my eye. When I looked up, there was a long cylinder shaped object with protrusions on its side that was shooting out short bursts of light like a ray and it was ascending. It only moved a short distance at I would say a medium speed (but faster than an airplane) before it stopped. It stayed right where it was until it disappeared. If I would hold a dime up at arms length, it would have been covered by the dime. I watched it for about a minute. It would flash a light now and then. I decided I had to get my husband up to see this even though he has to get up at 3:00 a.m everyday to leave for work at 4:00 a.m. So I got him up, told him there was something weird, maybe a satellite in the sky. He went outside with me and I showed him the object. He said he could only see the light(s) but he only saw the one and possibly due to his eyesight or being just awakened, he could not see the shape. He grunted "Im going back to bed, have fun (or something like that)" and went back to bed. Thinking, "Im not going to have a witness", I ran to my computer and posted on FB " theres a UFO in the southern sky right now OMG". Then I got on my boots and a hat and went back outside, but this time I stepped off the porch and down the steps. At that time, the object was still where it was when I had gone inside. Its lights were still emitting a flash of light now & then. I looked up and in a semi-circle, that was facing the first object were approximately 6 or 7 more of this same thing. They were also flashing their lights and it was all simultaneously. I stood and watched them for another minute or two, then they all just disappeared! There was only blackness where the objects had been. I waited a few more minutes, but they did not re-appear. I went back into my house and continued what I was doing on the computer. About 45 minutes later, my curiousity got the better of me and I went back outside and down the steps. I did not see anything where they had been before, but when I looked South- South West, I saw one of these objects. Looking more, I spottd 4 or 5 more, and again, they were flashing their lights in unison. I probably only watchd them for a minute, then suddenly a beam of light came out of each of them..at the same time. The beams were not as bright as when their lights would flash, but were very visible. The beams came out of the crafts at an angle, like 4 o'clock on a clock in reference to the top of the craft being 12 oclock. I only watched these beams for about 15-20 seconds, then it was like a cloud covered the objects. I could see the lights flash, but not as brightly. It was almost like there was a shroud over them, but I could tell they were stil there. And then they were gone. Poof! I posted a bit about this on my FB page then in the morning I went to WTTE Fox 28s FB page and posted asking if anyone else had seen this. Is it a coincidence that later that day, there were 4 big gray helicopters fly in the same path that the objects did, TWICE? By the way, Ive been in the same home for almost 17 years and have never seen more than one helicopter at a time and its usually life flight. I don't know. I'm not a UFO crazy. I don't watch shows about UFOs but I have seen some unexplained things before, but never something like this. I called my brother who is retired from the Marine Corps and he told me to report this sighting to you, MUFON. I just realised I'm supposed to tell you my feelings. I am amazed, excited and a bit nervous. The thought DID cross my mind "is this an Alien invasion?" Oh well. You can call me if you need to. Tim Binnall finished out Season III in a huge way; interview with the incomparable Jacques Vallee. Amazing, astounding, fantastic! Good for Tim, and that's good for us.
Tim started off the interview with a very brief bit of practicality: Binnall Audio is in the red, donate something. Listen, Tim brings all of us very fine interviews with the big names in esoterica, and it's all for free. He's one of the best interviewers in pod cast land. As Tim said, "No donation is too small" so whatever you can contribute, just go here and give what you can.
On to the interview. What I love is what they got to right off; Vallee said he "still doesn't know" what UFOs are; Tim concurred, in his usual dry style, that "none of us do, though some think they know." So true!
I'm not going to recap the entire interview here; you'll need to listen to it yourself. But some points were made that resonated with me and I'll just share them.
Of course they discussed the ETH, which Vallee is "against" but it's not so simple. Vallee says that it may be that the ETH is part of the phenomena, but that the UFO phenomena, as a whole, is more than that. That's an important distinction. I hope I did that justice.
In other words, any theory, Vallee says, has to explain everything about UFOs, which the ETH doesn't do.
Vallee described one case he investigated, where the witnesses were disoriented as to the direction of the UFO. This is because witnesses who've had close encounters are in "a field of some kind" that causes this to happen. This is what happened to me and my husband in one case. Screen memory, cover memory, missing time and, to this day, arguments between us about the memory of the direction of not only the UFO, but us. I insist we were traveling East, seeing the UFO a mile west of our house, JIm insists we were traveling West, seeing the UFO... well, he's not sure. Hmmm...Were we in "a field" of some kind that altered our perceptions? Certainly possible. Damn likely, given all the other high strangeness surrounding that sighting.
I had to laugh when Vallee said that there are many good researchers who want nothing to do with the internet UFO community, mainly due to the "insults" that are flung about. Hello, are you listening? You all know who you are. Knock it off.
Ah, I love this; the UFO phenomena purposely "hides itself" in order to push away science. As we well know.
And this: Occam's Razor ust doesn't work when dealing with the UFO phenomena. I love it! VAllee pointed out that he "likes Occams' Razor," but when it comes to UFOs, it doesn't work. Such a simple tool for such a complex phenomena.

Considering how American schoolkids trail 16 nations in science scores and rank 24th in math, lamentations from the executive director of a team of scientists shouldn't take anybody by surprise. Ted Roe, a co-founder of the 11-year-old National Aviation Reporting Center on Anomalous Phenomena, reports that its Web site draws a modest 4,000 to 5,000 visitors a month, and that maybe 50 percent of those peeks last less than 30 seconds. "Most don't get past our home page," Roe says.
Never mind that NARCAP's roughly 50 members - research associates, mostly, with disciplines as disparate as aviation engineering and perceptual psychology - are studying UFOs, one of the most heavily trafficked subjects in cyberspace. (They refer to the mystery by another acronym, UAP, or unidentified aerial phenomena, in an effort to avoid the UFO baggage.) Never mind that their perhaps forbiddingly technical analyses - such as last year's sobering Project Sphere - are routinely ignored by the mainstream media and never referenced by so-called skeptics alleging a lack of data to review.
Without the sort of public squabbles that have lately characterized the much larger, anyone-can-join MUFON, NARCAP labors largely in obscurity as members, which include pilots and radar techs, tend to focus on aviation-safety issues raised by near collisions and electronics malfunctions. But maybe the low profile is about to change.
Unlike the U.S., the Chilean government has a formal and transparent UAP reporting system called the Committee for the Study of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena (CEFAA), which was established in 1997 following a major sighting wave too widespread to ignore. Last December, NARCAP scored a huge and possibly unprecedented coup when it signed onto a partnership with CEFAA under the auspices of Chile's General Direction of Civil Aviation and National Aviation.
Signatories included the somewhat fearless CEFAA director Gen. Ricardo Bermudez Sanhueza. In 2000, Bermudez dispatched a memo to the Pentagon via the American embassy asking if U.S. anti-missile exercises might account for yet another rash of sightings along Chile's central coast in 1999. He also expressed an interest in working with an American counterpart to investigate the unremitting weirdness in the skies.
"Both requests went unanswered," Bermudez wrote last year in Leslie Kean's UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record. "To be frank, we've had no response from the United States any time we've tried to enlist its cooperation."
"Actually," says Roe, "Bermudez approached us about a year and a half ago; they've had ongoing UAP issues with their military for a number of years. So we're looking forward to working with them. We've had a cordial relationship with Chile since we started NARCAP."
Roe's hope, obviously, is that a NARCAP/CEFAA alliance can create momentum for expanding formal international cooperation and data-sharing. Any bets on what the U.S. response will be?
"I guess science just isn't sexy," says Roe. "People don't want to look at the data because it's like, 'Oh, that's so tedious.' We can't control that; a lot of people have their minds made up. We're just going to keep doing the work for peer review and keep looking for outside publications."
